Filed under: Ajax, Java, Spring — Bram Smeets at 10:02 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2007

I will be presenting a session on Building web-based ‘fat clients’ using GWT at SpringOne.
This session will provide a practical introduction on Google Web Toolkit (GWT), focusing on using GWT to build a rich UI for an existing Spring backend.

SpringOne 2007

from June 20th till 22nd

Antwerp, Belgium

This is the conference you should attend if you are already using Spring and want to learn more or want to get a jumpstart into using Spring. It contains 42 sessions in 3 parallel tracks plus keynotes, all focusing on Spring and related products/projects. Speakers include Rod Johnson, Adrian Colyer and Eric Evans.

Register here.

Hope to see you all there!

Can you share which GWT-Spring integration approach you’re using?

hmm, my previous comment seems to have disappeared.

Can you share the GWT-Spring integration approach you’ve taken? Does it work in hosted mode as well? Thanks.

I’m using the most straightforward approach using the org.gwtwidgets.server.spring.GWTHandler.

Thanks, I’ll check it out. Any chance of incorporating the functionality of GWTHandler into Spring?

I am pretty sure the GWTHandler will not become part of Spring. It might end up in Spring Modules, but I think it fits better where it currently is.

Hopefully one day it will become part of the GWT core / user distribution.
